Tawna Reviews PayPal

By Tawna Richards

I got online and went to www.paypal.com. I searched everywhere on the website for e-gift cards. I specifically want a Wal-Mart e-gift cards. The only thing I was able to find was where I could make purchases at specific websites and receive cash back offers if purchasing products from them and paying with PayPal. The only way I was able to find where to purchase Wal-Mart e-gift cards was to do a search at Google.com. Google gave me a link that went directly to the page I needed on PayPal to make the purchase. Upon that page opening, it had the Wal-Mart logo and underneath it only said Gift Card. That gave me the impression that only the physical cards were an option. I decided to click on it anyway and was surprised to find that it was actually what I was looking for. The general layout has always been easy for me to navigate except for this particular time. It was my first time purchasing something directly from PayPal, however I feel the layout is seriously lacking considering I had to actually do a Google search in order to find out how to purchase what I was looking for. The product I was looking for was not available. I wanted to purchase a $5.00 e-gift card but the least amount I could purchase was $10.00. That really didn’t make much sense to me considering $5.00 e-gift cards are available at Wal-Mart and also on other websites.

The e-card was delivered in a timely manner. I can’t rate the quality of the product as it wasn’t an actual physical product. The value for the money was fine. There wasn’t any type of fee associated with the purchase. I was also disappointed when it came to making the actual purchase of the Wal-Mart gift card. Once I selected the amount I was purchasing and where the e-card should be sent, the next step was to click Buy Now. I was extremely hesitant to do that because I didn’t know if the money would be taken out of my PayPal account or if it would be taken out of my checking or savings account. I had to go back to my account details and see which payment option I was set up for just to make sure PayPal was my preferred payment option. After clicking on Buy Now I saw that on that page I was given the option to select the payment type. It would have been nice to have a written notice near the Buy Now button that lets you know that you will be able to select the payment type on the following page. It just made me feel uncomfortable not knowing if selecting Buy Now would be the final step without having a final page to confirm my order. I love PayPal but I found this experience to be difficult and confusing and so for that I will give it a rating of 3
